Singer / songwriter, instrumentalist and recording artist Charlie Worsham recently announced a new fund at CFMT, The Compadres Fund. The Fund will support nonprofits that champion arts education and mental health services. All proceeds from Worsham’s “Every Damn Monday” show on Dec. 11 at The Basement East in Nashville will also benefit The Compadres Fund.

“Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee has been my good ‘compadre’ for a long time,” Worsham Shared. “It’s where I met my bride. It’s also where I’ve been proud to grow a scholarship fund for kids from my hometown following their hearts. The logical next step in following my own heart was to establish The Compadres Fund, with my bride Kristen, to continue to support arts education, mental health services like Porter’s Call, and provide help to those who need it most.”

Worsham has been actively engaged with local and national nonprofit organizations since beginning his career more than a decade ago. He began working with Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee when he established his Follow Your Heart Scholarship Fund in 2016. This holiday season he will perform at the annual “Carols By Candlelight” show on Dec. 9 benefitting Rady’s Children’s Hospital – San Diego.

A beloved and acclaimed entertainer, Worsham will kick off 2024 with his headlining Compadres Tour. The run, which spans the southeast, will feature support from labelmate Jordyn Shellhart. Worsham recently signed with United Talent Agency for worldwide representation in all areas.

The names of both the new fund and upcoming tour hail from Worsham’s recently released project, Compadres. The five-song album features a few of his most decorated collaborators and fiercest champions: Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Elle King, Kip Moore and Lainey Wilson. The Tennessean’s Marcus Dowling has declared that “moreso than any release in the past half-decade, [Compadres] may best encapsulate how modern iterations of the genre’s storied traditions articulate themselves in country’s broad landscape.” Listen HERE.

From his debut album Rubberband to his 2021 EP Sugarcane, Worsham’s discography has earned unflagging praise from critical outlets including NPR, The Wall Street Journal, The Tennessean, Billboard and Rolling Stone. In addition to creating his own music, the proud Mississippi native has contributed his talents as a vocalist and instrumentalist to projects from Eric Church, Brandy Clark, Vince Gill, Hailey Whitters, Corey Kent, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, among others. He was honored with the 2022 ACM Award for Acoustic Guitar Player of the Year, and he was recently nominated for Musician of the Year at the 57th CMA Awards.
