    • https://studentaid.gov/understand-aid/types/scholarships is the best starting point for information on federal student financial aid. It includes links to publications, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and information on new tax cuts for higher education.
    • https://scholarships.uncf.org/ lists scholarships available to students attending historically black colleges that are members of The United Negro College Fund/The College Fund.
    • smartscholar.com/fafsa-guide/ provides directions for completing the FAFSA and explanations of different types of financial assistance a student can receive.
    • https://www.annuity.org/financial-literacy/students/ org believes when students learn financial literacy at an early age, it helps them to make astute decisions about their personal finances, as smart financial behavior leads to financially secure lives. College is a huge first step in learning how to manage finances.
    • Tennessee Reconnect is a last-dollar scholarship for adults to attend a community college tuition-free.
    • Tennessee Promise offers up to two and a half years of tuition-free community of technical college to Tennessee high school graduates. The program provides eligible students a last-dollar scholarship, which covers tuition and mandatory fees not covered by the Pell grant, TELS, and TSAA. Students will also be assigned a mentor who will provide guidance and assistance as the student enters higher education. Students must participate with a partnering organization to access Tennessee Promise dollars.

    • act.org helps you find overall college planning information and details about the ACT Assessment Test.
    • consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0082-scholarship-and-financial-aid-scams is the Federal Trade Commission website providing information about spotting and avoiding scholarship rip-offs. Also on this site are links to the Department of Education financial aid information.
