December 9, 2023 Tornado Response
Cheatham, Dickson, Montgomery (Clarksville), Robertson (Springfield), Stewart, and Sumner (Hendersonville)

Gifts made to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund enable effective and timely assistance to the communities outside of Davidson County hit by the devastating tornadoes that occurred on December 9, 2023. Grants from the Fund are made to the nonprofits and faith-based organizations with boots on the ground assisting tornado survivors with their immediate needs.

These services include direct financial assistance, food, temporary housing, debris clean-up, and animal sheltering. If funding remains, support is also provided to organizations helping with long-term recovery needs such as counseling and mental health services, FEMA registration guidance, insurance mediation, legal aid, and the repairing and rebuilding of homes.

To support tornado survivors impacted in Davidson County, please make a gift to the United Way of Greater Nashville today.

Your tax-deductible gift will be reflected on your credit card statement as Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

To donate by check, make it out to CFMT and note TERF – Tornado in the memo line.

About Tennessee Emergency Response Fund
The size and scope and circumstance of every disaster is different. Tennessee Emergency Response Fund was created in 2008 as a means for the Middle Tennessee community to respond to any disaster.  Financial contributions to the Fund allows nonprofit and faith-based partners to concentrate on survivors while we connect generous donor dollars to those organizations delivering those vital services.
