The Community Foundation of Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties, created through affiliation with the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, works with donors and nonprofit organizations for the benefit of the communities it serves.

A basic goal of The Foundation is to develop effective solutions to improve its communities, not simply to distribute funds. The Foundation acts as a leader, catalyst and resource for philanthropy, while local nonprofits, churches and schools benefit annually from contributions.

There are many ways to make a difference through The Community Foundation of Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties. You can create a Fund tailored to your specific interests, select the specific charitable purpose to benefit from your Fund, or advise The Foundation as to which charitable organizations should receive grants. For example, you can set up a Scholarship Fund to support your favorite university, school or pre-school; Endowment Funds can be established to benefit your church or favorite nonprofit organization. There are so many ways that individuals can make a difference, forever.

In 2003, civic leaders and forward-thinking residents of Christian, Todd, and Trigg Counties approached the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee with the hope of building a “charitable savings account” to benefit nonprofits in these counties and develop effective solutions to improving their community.  After some discussion, the board of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee agreed to extend its boundaries to take these three southern Kentucky counties “under its wing.” In this cooperative venture, The Community Foundation of Christian, Todd, and Trigg Counties is an affiliate fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

The first grants made through The Community Foundation of Christian, Todd, and Trigg Counties helped emergency responders who coordinated the volunteers and counseled the victims of the tornadoes that ripped through Christian County in 2006.
